Leadership Training Courses
One of the most important services CSB provides to local churches is the training of leaders involved in the programs the church is offering. We offer a Basic course for new leaders, and approximately twenty advanced courses on a variety of topics for existing leaders to help them be more effective leaders and servants of Christ. The over-arching purpose is to help equip your leaders to grow godly men of today and tomorrow.
The CSB coordinator in your church can arrange for one or more of these course to be conducted in your church by contacting your Regional Director.
Basic Leadership Training (BLT) Course
EVERY leader working in a local Brigade group should have completed the Basic Leadership Training Program. This is a three hour course covering the basics of CSB focus, ministry, and program operations. The leader-in-training will be given the core elements of why we do the ministry we carry out, how to set and reach program goals, and the nuts and bolts of running a weekly meeting. Course materials can be ordered from the CSB warehouse or by contacting your Regional Director.
Advanced Leadership Training (ALT) Courses
We currently offer approximately 20 ALT courses. These Advanced Leadership Training Courses are usually taught by our staff, but may be taught by leaders from your church. Many of the courses are also of benefit to Sunday school teachers, pastors, youth workers, those involved in leadership of girls ministries, as well as others involved in ministry at your church.
Each of these courses is designed to be completed in three hours. This permits the course to be completed in an evening.
These courses may be taken in any sequence, although each course stands on its own. There are no pre-requisites, except that leaders taking the courses for credit from CSB must have completed the Basic Leadership Training program first.
A small certificate is given to each person who attends each course. For every six courses completed, an individual leader may apply to the area Regional Director to receive a certificate and an award which can be worn on his uniform if your ministry incorporates these in your program.
Courses in the one hundred series are considered to be more directly related to equipping leaders to work in the weekly meetings of the various Brigade programs. Those in the two hundred series are of more general interest areas.
Contact your Regional Director to arrange for any of these courses to be taught at your church.
